The live streaming was surprisingly good - if a little biased - and a far better view of the action at Butts Park than that enjoyed by those peering through the fence. After an eon wthout Championship rugby it was a much better experience than anticipated despite the last ditch 10-9 win for Cov.

With all the enforced cutbacks, alliances with other clubs etc. etc. the build up to the opening game was an odd experience. However, finally being able to watch a team which did have a lot of familiar names proved to be more uplifting than expected.

The mini-season ticket offered to watch the live stream of the Blues games is well worth having.

For the record this historic game saw the Blues dominate the first half , but needed more than their three points at the break - courtesy of Tommy Matthews.

He stretched the lead in the second half, but the only try of the game went to Cov when hooker Nic Dolly went over from a driving maul with the conversion giving them  the lead for the first time.

It looked like we had won it when Will Maisey returned to Coventry to kick a difficult three points with just a minute left.

Unfortunately, one last effort saw Cov force a penalty of their own to take the win.
