Blues had to settle for two bonus points as Richmond claimed an unexpected 37-32 win at Goldington Road.
It was one of those days as we gave away too many penalties - Brendon Nansen having an early rest for repeated infringements as Richmond came out with a point to prove.
They went ahead with an interception and then another in the corner as they stretched the Blues defence. We came back to make it 20-20 at the break with scores from Reece Marshall and Connor Tupai.
Pat Tapley kept his try scoring record going and nudging us ahead in the second half, but Richmond came back with a couple of tries from Freddie Hosking and David Massey.
Ethan Grayson gave us hope but we couldn't produce that grandstand finish to sneak the game.
