Ealing Trailfinders showed why they are a shoe-in for the Premiership during a first half blitz at Goldington Road. We were 38-0 down at the break and there's no way back from that.
There's some consolation in the 14 points to 12 we scored after the break. A combination of playing for pride and the visitor's taking their foot off the gas.
Ealing's ambitions are professional and one step removed from the elevated "club rugby" played by most in the Championship. It clearly showed as they ran in six tries for fun in the first 40 and the Blues faithful were just grateful for that much better second half.
For the record our tries came from Dean Adamson and debut boy Jake Garside. Will Maisey converted. Full time Blues 14 Trailfinders 50.
