 A legend of the game announces retirement non other than Jonny Wilkinson.  Unofficial England would like to say thank you Jonny for all your hard work and talent and enjoy whatever you do next.



 The RFU Council approved the recommendations of the Adult Competition Review that will see adjustments to the structure of competitive rugby. The changes take account of player welfare concerns and will help to reduce the financial burden on clubs, while providing meaningful competition. Tony Spreadbury has been appointed RFU Head of Professional Game Match Officials having led the referees’ department this season.

His role will be to lead in the development of match officials in the professional game across England and to create the best performance system for all areas of match officiatin Spreadbury appointed RFU Head of Match Officials  

Inspiring stories of clubs from across England making a difference in their communities were celebrated at the 2014 President’s Awards.

Seven awards were presented to the winning clubs at a special luncheon hosted by RFU President Bob Reeves at Twickenham ahead of the match between an England XV and the Barbarians  Inspiring clubs recognised at President’s Awards


Twickenham Stadium  became the first stadium in Europe to announce the installation of LED floodlights by Musco Lighting.   This is part of the Rugby Football Union’s (RFU) stadium redevelopment programme that is already well underway to ensure the home of England Rugby is a world-leading facility for the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and beyond. Even for Jonny Wilkinson, who spent the entirety of his 17-year professional career collecting superlatives, those incredible scenes on Saturday night as Toulon clinched the Top 14 epitomised the fly half’s universal popularity and respect.....................................

England Counties XV held their nerve to beat Emerging Georgia 15-14 with a last minute try from flanker Ollie Cooper-Milar at the Rustavi Stadium in Tblisi today. The win followed a 48-23 win over Emerging Georgia in last Wednesday's tour opener and came after two one point defeats by France Federale and Ireland Club XV earlier in the season.
