 Smon Massie-Taylor has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer of the RFU

Massie-Taylor is currently Commercial Director at the British Olympic Association (BOA) and will join the RFU later in the summer.

He will be responsible for all of the RFU’s commercial operations and revenue-generating activities, including: sponsorship, commercial partnerships, broadcast deals, ticketing, stadium debenture sales and boxes, hospitality, licensing and retail.

Reporting to RFU CEO Ian Ritchie, Massie-Taylor will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and the RFU Management Board.

Ian Ritchie said: “Simon’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the RFU. His commercial knowledge and experience, and proven track record in developing and delivering commercial strategies and programmes in international sport will help us generate funds to invest in the game, and continue to grow and develop rugby in this country. ”

England Elite:     Eddie Jones has named four uncapped players in his match-day 23 to face Wales for the Old Mutual Wealth Cup at Twickenham Stadium

Northampton Saints back-row forward Teimana Harrison will earn his first England cap at blind-side flanker replacing Chris Robshaw (Harlequins) who is rested. Elsewhere the uncapped trio of Sale Sharks hooker Tommy Taylor, Leicester Tigers loose-head prop Ellis Genge and Bath Rugby centre Ollie Devoto are included as replacements.   

Jack Clifford (Harlequins) starts at No 8 with Joe Launchbury (Wasps) and Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints) making up the second-row pairing. There are also starts for Wasps loose-head prop Matt Mullan, Harlequins wing Marland Yarde and Northampton Saints centre Luther Burrell.

Dave Attwood (Bath Rugby), Matt Kvesic (Gloucester Rugby) and Paul Hill (Northampton Saints) are also named amongst the replacements.

The squad for England Saxons’ tour to South Africa in June has been announced together with its coaching staff. The 27-man squad to play two tests against South Africa A, will be coached by Exeter Chiefs assistant coach Ali Hepher, assisted by Alan Dickens (Northampton Saints) and Andy Titterrell (Wasps)
