I was typing the match report late last night, so please forget the typing errors. One of the things that I forgot to mention about the game was seeing the kit manager Mark going around the pitch whispering in the ear to every single ball boy and ball girl. I am curious of what he said. Would it be something like "Can you play scrum half?"

Good stuff...

If Shane had taken a quick DG for the conversion before the TMO tipped off the ref, could the ref still have over-ruled the try or not...?

I know you can get away with a sneaky quick conversion for eg. a TMO forward pass reveiw, but is it the same as for a TMO foul-play review...?

What was he trying to do if he wasn't trying to cause an injury? Why did he deliberately raise his foot and stomp it down on the defenceless guy's head? It was such a conscious action I found it sickening. You're right he will certainly spend time on the naughty step - and rightly so.

From my point of view you can deliberately stamp on someone to give them a nudge and at the same time doing it in a controlled manner avoiding contact with eyes, for example. It my opinion and I am someone who has played rugby for many years and still does. No doubt McKibbon will be severely punished for what he did, but as mitigating factors I would say that he didn't go wild on Thomas and Thomas didn't even complain about it. If a tighthead prop gets his head kicked while on the floor you would expect a huge punch-up to follow, which wasn't the case.

I am not trying to defend McKibbon's actions, I am just saying it wasn't a vicious attack.
