I'd swap Delon's slightly iffy kicking for Hewat's slightly iffy defence as this team should be going for the corner every time.

Richards over Hodgson is controversial but other than that I agree pretty much everywhere.

IMO Maps MOTM in that team

I'd swap Delon in because he was just too good. Don't need a kicker if you score try after try, which used to be our mentality.

For me:

Hodgson 9 (Who remembers that covering tackle in the quarter final?
Geraghty 10
Catt 12
Mapasua 13

Both of the Chris's at 8 have also featured to varying degrees of success at Bracknell RFC.

Hala'ufia's guaranteed one knock-on per game used to drive me mad. At least it used to be on one his first carries, then you knew it was out of the way

Strudders and Murphy in with a shout but not quite making it.

Eddie Halvey not that great and a dangerous drunk away from the pitch. It's not libel there was the court case to prove it.

Didn't Tonu try to sue the club. Can't find a record but I thought it was him.

Flutey good player but we were pretty much a stepping stone for him unlike the committed players in the original pick.

Geraghty, not really that great but did have the potential early on.

I think the really good players actually stand out quite a bit from the rest of the pick cause most of our players, at least in the time I have watched them, have been only good not great.

I think Strudwick merits a place and Flutey gave us a couple of seasons, was a real delta for me when he joined.

Obviously it's all a question of personal preference, but Peter Richards, really?

While I agree with all of the reasoning and selection of the team you put forward, I would always select Delon, for me he along with Topsy and Tagi epitomised the type of play that was so exciting about how LI played in that golden period.

Yup...I remember watching a match where PR was scrummy and then Dodge came on (or maybe moved over when PR came on) to play 10... was really effective that day..Peter gets the vote for me as he could play pretty much anywhere in the back line
