Former England captain Lewis Moody will deliver the match ball ahead of England’s Quilter Nations Series opener against Australia. Moody, who revealed his motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis earlier this month, earned 71 caps for England and was part of three Six Nations title-winning teams and lifted the 2003 World Cup. His emotional return to Twickenham will be supported by the RFU, with a match-worn shirt auction and big-screen promotion of a fundraising campaign led by his former Leicester teammates.

Fans can support Lewis and his family via the official JustGiving page, set up to help with care and treatment. “It will be an honour to carry the match ball out on Saturday," Moody said, "as a new generation of warriors get set to pull on the jersey and make us proud."
