England Sevens move onto the next round of the IRB 7s 2006/7 tournament to be held in Adelaide 7th and 8th April. England will be looking to improve on their performance having crashed out in the quarter finals of the Hong Kong 7s last weekend.

IRB - Australia Adelaide 2006/7 Series

The IRB Sevens Series 2006/7 moves onto to the next stage to be held at the Adelaide Oval in Australia - Samoa will be looking to further their success after winning in Hong Kong and England open with Tonga.  

About the venue, Adelaide Oval is widely regarded as the most picturesque Test cricket ground in the world, with St Peter's Cathedral rising behind an elegant Edwardian scoreboard and Moreton Bay fig trees at the northern end, the Mount Lofty Ranges to the east, and the nearby city skyline to the south.

Unlike the other major sports grounds in Australia, Adelaide Oval has preserved its aesthetic charm. The western public and members grandstands, and the scoreboard are all items listed on the City of Adelaide Heritage Register, and the Sir Donald Bradman Stand which replaced the John Creswell Stand in 1990 complements the other stands magnificently.

With two new stands, completed in August 2003 on the eastern side, the ground has a capacity for football of about 34,000, and for cricket about 32,000, and is host to not only these sports, but also rugby league, rugby union and concerts.
