England lost out in the second day play of the IRB 7s Tournament. Joe Lydon England 7s coach said "We made too many basic errors particularly in the second half," Lydon said. "In the end our mistakes presented Fiji with the win, though we can’t take that away from Fiji who are a champion side.

England 7's Lost out in Extra Time and  will slip down to second on the IRB Sevens table. England and South Africa now have 44 points and will be overtaken by defending champion New Zealand.

Coach Joe Lydon was philosophical about the performance of his young team:

"We made too many basic errors particularly in the second half," Lydon said. "In the end our mistakes presented Fiji with the win, though we can’t take that away from Fiji who are a champion side.

"Everybody wants to get to the final but our guys will learn from the experience. It’s a young team and if they can take something mentally from the tournament and come back the experience will be worthwhile.

"We’re now looking forward to the Los Angeles leg next week."
