Have been persuaded by other half due to weather not to attend due to poor weather expected and with the darker evenings and happy marriage to avoid. If match goes ahead will listen in via Radio Dreckly.

Hartpury 41 Pirates 26
After dominating the first 20 minutes to lead 19-0 the pirates poor discipline allowed the home side back into the game and they took full advantage to run out worthy winners.
The pirates conceded 16 penalties in difficult conditions which allowed hartpury to dominate territory and possession.
The pirates need to regroup quickly ahead of a return to league action on Friday evening at home against newcomers Chinnor.

Very disappointing, after such a good 25 minutes, to capitulate from there on. Terrible penalty count and an error-strewn performance. Will Gibson injured, too, I guess, as he was replaced early in the second half. We really need a big performance next Friday to get back on track.

Listening in on the radio it was so noticeable as mentioned by others the penalty count gave the game to Hartpury. We always appear to give the opposition options to reclaim territory after we work the ball up field. Unsure what the team thinks but they do need to work on this as I am sure the officials arrive and think we give so many penalties away they look for the slightest infringement we make. Listening to the commentary they mentioned Hartpury players waved their arms about many times which could have influenced officials. Friday could be a chance to restart our season.
