WHAT a disappointing performance from us all on Saturday after such a positive start to the game. The first 15 minutes was full of attitude and we seemed to be executing the game plan as discussed. Then it’s almost impossible to put your finger on it – as I’ve been trying to do for the last three days – as to what happened?
We got dominated in the pack, which has been going reasonably well, and the intensity we’ve had in defence just didn’t seem to be there on Saturday.
I try to be positive week on week but this one against Esher has really hurt and I think that’s the case for all the boys.
Our challenge this week against an in-form Wharfedale is to turn up and bring the massive intensity that clearly wasn’t there on Saturday.
We have to set a platform up front as this is where it all starts and without it we can forget looking to challenge any team.
I think there will be some honest words spoken this week with a lot of focus and work to be done on the training pitch.
