Sponsor an Albion player for 2008/9

Sponsor a player

By Frank Stormont
April 28 2008

The time has come to start thinking about sponsorship of players for the next season. Many of us may not be able to sponsor a player on our own but if we club together we could. This is your chance.

Sponsor a Player
2008/9

Last season we managed to raise enough money to sponsor not one but two players (Chris Lowrie and Jamie Tripconey) and I would like that to continue this coming season.

Around 40 individuals pledged between £10 to over £200 and if we could repeat or even improve on this we can continue to be part of the sponsorship of the club we all love.

With Chris leaving the club, at least for a while, we could have the opportunity to sponsor one of the new players coming in.  The earlier I can asses the value of the support the earlier our player will be announced. Would it not be great for the first new player to be announced during the closed season was sponsored by a group of individual supporters?

I would hope that this time we would organise an event during the season when the player(s) would be present.

Whilst any money we raise does not go directly to the individual player it helps to make up his salary and will in turn allow the club to signup more players. We know from experience that injuries in the squad are hard to cope with if we do not have strength in depth.

If you would be happy to be part of this opportunity please let me know. You can contact me by email, private message or phone on 01752 774499.  Please let me have a contact number, which will not be passed on, and the amount you are prepared pledge.

Can't make this one sticky as it is a story.

Just need to keep adding comments to it but without putting any personnel details.

Wouldn't it be nice if we sponsored the top try scorer for next season, would that be a forward or a back do you think (not knowing the full extent of the internationals we have coming to fortress brickfields) he said tounge in cheek, although you never know.

Great news!

We are close to sponsoring a number of players.

Can't say anything yet and I still need more pledges to pay for them.

We will not have enough to sponsor the top internationals but I hope we will all be pleased with the results.

Please do not ask who we have because I can't tell you, or I will have the kill you!

Stay tuned!!!
