Cru v. St Helens

The Celtic Crusaders will look to secure their first Super League win on Saturday evening - but face a hugely difficult task against St.Helens. The Saints will pose a huge test for John Dixon's Crusaders, despite a less than convincing start to the season including a shock home defeat at the hands of Hull Kingston Rovers last weekend.

The Saints kicked-off the Super League season with a narrow win over struggling Warrington, followed by a 23-6 win at Huddersfield. However, the Saints then went onto lose 20-19 to Hull KR and travel to the Brewery Field anxious to return to winning ways.

The Merseyside club have won four consecutive league shields in a row - though ended up surprise Grand Final losers at the hands of Leeds Rhinos last season.

The Crusaders, 11/2 underdogs, will be aiming to stop a run of three consecutive defeats and claim an unlikely win. Fans have been shown glimpses of promise in our opening three games - the second-half at Leeds, the second-half at Salford and the first-half at Hull all showed we can be competitive - but victory over Saints is a huge ask for the fledgling Super League club.

If Cru are to claim a surprise result, they will have to do it without skipper Jace Van Dijk and Luke Dyer. They are struggling with respective ankle and hip problems meaning we will be without two key names for the game.

It's a 6pm kick-off at the Brewery Field - though if you can get to Brewery Field early then you can watch the Crusaders Reserves take on St Helens fresh on the back of a fantastic 48-40 away win at Leeds.
