Its five defeats from five for the Celtic Crusaders following Sunday’s thumping 48-18 defeat at Hull Kingston Rovers. John Dixon's men were competitive throughout the opening period and trailed by only four points at the break - but the Robins dominated after half-time to steamroller their way to a convincing victory.

Clint Newton ran over a hat-trick as Rovers stormed to a convincing win thanks to a dominant first-half display.

The Crusaders were competitive throughout the opening period with tries from Peter Lupton, the club's 600th competitive score, and Darren Mapp keeping Dixon's men in contention at the break.

However, the Robins dominated the second period as the Crusaders started to tire. A try from Matt Smith was all the small band of travelling fans had to cheer as the hosts bossed the play, condemning Cru to their biggest defeat since entering Super League.

Crusaders remain 13th in the SL table, ahead of struggling Warrington on points difference. Next up is the visit of Wakefield to the Brewery Field next weekend where we'll try again to break our big league duck.

Wakefield are not going to be push overs, so Dixon will have to get things moving and PDQ!
