Wooden Spoon?

Anthony Seibold, Crusaders' football manager, has vowed that the South Wales club will do all they can to not to end up with the wooden spoon in their first season in the Super League. Cru are 1/8 favourites with the bookies to prop up the end-of-season table after kicking-off the league campaign with eight successive defeats.

Crusaders travel to Wigan's JJB Stadium on Sunday hoping to chalk up their first Super League points.

However, John Dixon's men are firm underdogs with the bookmakers and are widely fancied to finish 14^th this season.

Seibold, however, has other ideas and is hopeful that the Crusaders can leap-frog the likes of Salford City Reds and Bradford and climb up the table.

"The challenges that have confronted us so far have been relentless and we are still learning at this level as a playing squad and as a staff." said Cru's Football Manager.

"We are tipped by all in the press and amongst the betting agencies as favourites for the wooden spoon. We will still be working our backsides off to make sure this does not happen.

"We have 19 more opportunities this season to learn, to develop and to put into place some structures that allow us to get some results and some performances.

"It is a massive learning curve for all involved and something new as collectively in the past we have been used to winning so regularly."
