The season is almost upon us! A home friendly next Saturday against Wigan Warriors and then away to Rochdale in the Northern Rail Cup. We will be wearing a new strip which is available on line from the manufacturers - so things are looking up for those of us who like to show our colours!

The Scorpions will take on a Wigan Warriors XIII in a pre-season friendly at The Gnoll in Neath on Saturday 4th February (kick-off 3pm). The match against the Super League club side will be the Scorpions' only warm-up game for their competitive season that starts with an away trip to Rochdale Hornets a week later.

Wigan Warriors open their 2012 Super League campaign at home to Huddersfield Giants the following day (5th February) but have confirmed they will look to send the strongest side possible which could include former Scorpions and Crusaders star Wales international Rhodri Lloyd who signed for Wigan late last year.

Scorpions' coach Dave Clark said: "I'm delighted that my first game in charge of the Scorpions will be against a tough Wigan side which will include a number of their first team squad players as well as players who were in the under 20s side that won the Championship last year.
