Newcastle Thunder now in RFL Championship

Newcastle Thunder have been selected unanimously to step up to the RFL Championship; they will replace the club selected to take up the now defunct Toronto's spot in Super League -"Newcastle Thunder was the unanimous choice for the panel," chairman of the panel Dean Andrew said. Super League will reveal the identity of their 12th club, replacing the Wolfpack, on Monday 25th December.

The promotion of Thunder should give heart to everyone and shows the value of belief and persistency.  Thunder in the not too distant past have been, like West Wales Raiders, on the wrong end of some heavy defeats during developmental years as both Gateshead and Newcastle.  As a fan of the game I say well done and congratulations.
