Falcons have revealed their game plan for the new season. To a man the four strong coaching and management squad repeated the boast that they will seek success by playing entertaining rugby. Steve Bates said the style is modelled on Super 12 "power and speed not big and bulky."

New forwards coach Andrew Blades said the club had the players to play the style and he had been impressed by the skill and willingness to ask advice.

Jonny Wilkinson said it was important to go for bonus points - something Falcons have learned to their cost.

While Rob Andrew said that when Falcons was first set up a ready made team had to be bought in to achieve Premiership status.

"But now we have to establish a Falcons brand of playing like Leicester and Bath and other clubs have established their own way."

He emphaisised that future sides would be dominated with Academy players brought up in the Falcons style rather than buying in talent which would not fit in or adapt.
