Whether Josh Kronfeld joins Falcons or not the fact that we are talking to him cheers me up enormously. At the beginning of the season the KP management was quite confident that the young bloods coming through from the Under 21's were the future.
And so they are. But they are not the immediate future and those of us who felt the Falcons pack was just too lightweight are being proved right.
Our back row is too lightweight and inexperienced or - in the case of Arnie - too indisicplined.
The fact that we are talking to the likes of Kronfeld shows that Rob and co. now want to do something about this before we are too deeply in the mire.
It has been said that the decison to look outside the club for a back row has been taken because of the injury to Epi. If that's a facesaver then thats fine by me .... as long as bring in some experience and quality.
The Times makes it clear that any likelihood of Kronfeld leaving Tigers before the end of the autumn internationals is unlikely.
We need someone before then so, once we have found our man, we can start working on strenthening the front row.
