LUKE EVES is back in the 23-man England Under 20 squad to face France at Worcester on Friday night (8pm). The Bristol centre has missed the last two rounds of the RBS Under 20 Six Nations on Guinness Premiership duty for his club. But he is one of five changes to coach Mark Mapletoft's squad following last month's 19-18 defeat against Ireland in Athlone. Also called up are fit-again prop Joe Marler (Harlequins), flankers Dan Williams (Gloucester) and Jacob Rowan (Leeds Carnegie), and Wiltshire schoolboy Jamie Gibson, a second row or back row forward with London Irish, who makes his first appearance at this level. The players standing down are Bath flanker Josh Ovens (suspended), his back-row colleague Carl Fearns (Sale Sharks), who has been recalled by his club, prop Shaun Knight (Gloucester Rugby) and wing James Short (Saracens). Eves, a starter in last season's IRB Junior World Championship final, wing Seb Stegmann and flanker Tom Sargeant are the only survivors from the 2008 side that beat France 24-6 to silence 20,000 home fans in Grenoble last season. This year, England need to win both their remaining home games at Worcester - they complete the tournament against Scotland on March 20 - to have a chance of retaining their title. Ireland top the RBS Under 20 Six Nations table but have two difficult away games to come, against Scotland in Perth and Wales in Llanelli.
