It's that time of year again, when I dust off the walking boots, and try to ease my decaying frame into sufficient shape to cover a sizeable distance for a good cause.

It's a repeat of last year's walk, in aid of Matt Hampson. www.walk4matt.org

I shall again be joining rugby supporters from around the country, and walking 105 miles down the Grand Union Canal, while doing my bit to support the pub industry.

This year, each individual doing the whole walk is committed to raising £1,500. I'm sure that, with your help, this is an achievable, and beatable target.

I know times are hard, but all contributions are gratefully received and much appreciated by those causes which benefit from your generosity.
