England warmed up for their summer tour of Australasia with a well-earned victory, but Martin Johnson’s team were forced to withstand a strong second half fight back from the invitational side. England led 32-7 early in the second half, but were pegged back to 32-26 before a late Olly Barkley penalty put the win beyond doubt.
