Having got their Premiership campaign back on something like an even keel by beating Exeter at Kingsholm, Gloucester would probably have preferred to have played at least one more League game before concentrating on other matches, but instead they face four consecutive weeks of cup games before resuming their quest for a top six Prem finish next month.

Their next Premiership game is away to London Wasps on Sunday February 13, but before that they are off to Rovigo in the European Challenge Cup this Saturday, before a home tie against Agen the following Thursday.
LV=Cup games against Leeds (a) and London Irish (h) follow before Glaws can concentrate on the Premiership for a month against Wasps (a), London Irish (h), Northampton (a) and Bath (h).
Not exactly a restful time ahead for the cherry and whites then, and coach Bryan Redpath will not be expecting them to relax in the Euroe games.
He told the club website: “Credit to the players who had been criticised, rightly so, for most of the last week. I was delighted with the way they reacted.
"We're sixth at the moment with two games in hand. The Premiership will come back in the next couple of months and we'll see where we end up.
"We've always said that we want to be in the Heineken Cup and, to do that, you must finish in the top six. That's the challenge for us. We have to be critical and honest and see what comes."
He wants his players to continue their rehabilitation, if that’s what it is after defeats against La Rochelle and Leeds, in the four cup games coming up. He will no doubt rotate his squad, and it’s a chance for all the players, fringe or otherwise, to show that they are the ones who can guide Gloucester out of the rut of inconsistency and frustration they have been in for the last season or two.
Glaws are not failures, but they are still falling short of the high standards the club has always set and the win over Exeter was only the start of the road back.
