Gloucs supporters can finally believe that their side is worthy to top the league. A true backs to the wall heroic Cherry and Whites performance overcame much fancied Bath and had the Shed hushing Fin Russell as the clock ticked own and his side faced their 23-5 defeat

Gloucester did it without seemingly hardly ever having 15 men on the field. Att one time they were down to 13 and to restrict the visitors to just one score was monumental.

Having managed that two man defecit Gloucs went into oranges leading 9-5 at half-time thanks to three pens from George Barton - Kepu Tuipulotu getting what prpved to be Bath's "consolation try" from a driving maul.

The second half got even better  as Freddie Thomas scored under the posts. Then there was more stern defence before Max Llewellyn manaaged to roll over the line as the clock ticked down. What a noise!

A delighted George Skivington told the media: Everything that could have got thrown against the boys did. We were getting pinged off the park and it felt like the boys couldn't quite win the referee over. I thought the character, the attritional nature of that game, and the fact that nobody took a backwards step ,or threw the towel in, was unbelievable."

Top of the league. Off to Saints next week.
