Well here we go; at long last Newcastle Falcons will be playing back in the Premiership after eight months out.  As we all know this has been a horrendous year for many reasons, the main being Covid19!  And it is still a real concern for all clubs.

It hit Falcons very hard, staff furloughed, players helping out by taking pay cuts and the main/huge problem of it for us was NO play until just two weeks ago.

We had two friendly matches against Ealing Trailfinders, the first game we got turned over 38 v17.  Mind you Deano changed the whole team at half time!  The second match last Saturday a bit better 21v12 and that’s it!

Bath on the other hand has played many matches at Premiership level over the last few months and I feel sadly, they will be favourites to take this match.

But as they say anything can happen and I am sure Falcons supporters will be praying for a good performance, a win would be fantastic but we are not getting ahead of ourselves.   Plus it will be nice to see old Falcon's mate Josh Matavesi

Good Luck Falcons we are all with you even though we can’t be there, please do us proud!

Bath's Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper on his squad's fitness and condition said:

“The squad are really good as a collective. We took a lot of pride since restart in their preparation in getting themselves ready to go. We are looking pretty good at the moment from injury, but that is something that we need to stay on top of constantly.

We head into the Newcastle game this weekend with a relatively fit squad bar those players away on international duty and we just have to manage that the best we can.”
