England take on Scotland at Twickenham Stadium for the Calcutta Cup on Saturday 6 February (4.45pm KO), and BBC Radio 5 Live - minus the Twickenham crowd due to Covid 19 restrictions. I bet like me, you are sick and tired of this blasted 'Pandemic' but sadly we have to follow the rules to try and get life back to normal somehow. In these dark days I would like to say a BIG Thank You to all at BT Sport for giving excellent coverage of Rugby both Premiership and European. And I suppose we should thank the French to agreeing to take part in the Six Nations.!!! Moving on.....
England v Scotland
127th Calcutta Cup
Saturday 6th February 2021
Twickenham - Kick Off 4.45pm GMT

It is such a shame that fans can't get in to se this game especcially as it is the 150-year anniversary of the fixture, after the first ever international rugby Test match was played between the two nations at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh in 1871.
Infor., on the team Farrell Captain, Ben Youngs gets his 105th Cap. Mark Wilson returns at blind-side flanker, Tom Curry is positioned as open-side flanker with Billy Vunipola at No. 8.
Elliot Daly is at full back, he talked this week on how to defend against Finn Russell,
|
Daly said: “The way he plays is very free and fearless, you have to be ready for everything. “You always have to be on your toes and anticipate some stuff that you wouldn't anticipate from other players. “I've played against him a few times now and it’s understanding what he sees in the game and trying to work out what he'll do.” |

This week also saw Kiwi Defensive coach John Mitchell commit to England by signing a two-and-a-half year contract extension with England that takes him up until the 2023 World Cup. He said of England
|
“For me this side has so much more potential,” said Mitchell. “We don’t realise, I don’t think, how much better we can get. When we reach our potential, we have the ability to win and do well. “I really like the mix of experience and youth that is coming through. They give off a really good energy and there’s a willingness to want to get better. That’s what you want to be around. I really feel we have the potential to do some special things here.” |

and finally a word fro the 'Boss Man' Eddie Jones - Jones said: “We’re really looking forward to this game and getting the Guinness Six Nations back underway. It’s even more special to be taking part in a 150th anniversary game, it will be a good occasion.
“It was difficult to pick the 23 players. We’ve had a really good week of training, it’s been very competitive but I’ve gone with what I feel is the strongest 23 for this week. “The Six Nations is a short tournament, it’s a real sprint so we’ll need to be on the front foot straight away. We know Scotland will be raring to go – but so will we.”
