England Sevens results from the final round of this IRB series. England won all games on the first day however, fell on the last day against Samoa.

Well the IRB 2004/5 Sevens season finish this weekend in Bordeaux with England losing out on the second day to Samoa and then again to South Africa in the Plate Final.

New Zealand had already been crowned overall champions for the series after the London Sevens, they lost in the Semi Final of the Cup to France who went on to win the final round on home ground at the Stade Jean Bouin 

The Sevens game is becoming more and more popular with audiences and the International Olympic Committee will take a vote on whether to change the sporting programme for the 2012 Olympic Games.  Sevens Rugby is on a short list of sports being considered for possible inclusion in those Games.  Let us all keep our fingers crossed that this will be included as  Mark Egan the  IRB's Head of Rugby Services states they are making a strong case for inclusion..

Egan also goes on to say,

"It's been a great year,"  "We've more than doubled the broadcast coverage from last year and most of our tournaments are now going out live all over the world.  "It's an exciting product. It's fast, it's colourful and it's now more competitive than its ever been and broadcasters and the public are interested in that.  "The teams have also responded to the higher profile with the sides they pick and the amount of preparation they put in."
