Listening to the game on radio Cornwall the Pirates made a great with 2 tries in the opening 10 minutes before Nottingham got themselves back into the game with a try and a half time lead to the Pirates of 17-8.
The Pirates were quick out of the blocks in the 2nd half capitalising on a Nottingham mistake to score in the first few minutes.
Nottingham had a period of sustained pressure midway through the half but a combination of determined Pirates defence and errors by the home side stopped them getting back into the game.
A score by the Pirates with the final play secured a 4th try and a bonus point.
It didn't sound like a classic and we failed to match the performance from the Ealing game but job done ahead of next weeks visit by Coventry.

After many months of not been able to watch the Pirates live at a match and this been classed as a home fixture for myself it was a superb evening. After the opening ten minutes I thought we could be really running away with the game as the Pirates came straight off the block with two converted try's. But well done to Notts to come back as they did to make the half time score a little more tense and when you watch your team it is always tense. I have to congratulate Sir on the night as the game was still in its first quarter when Notts had a penalty awarded to them. Someone amongst the Pirates team obviously had a different opinion to the penalty been awarded which resulted in Sir moving the penalty another ten yards. In my opinion this is something that needs to be enforced a bit more rigorously and prevent the issue they have at football when all and sundry face up and challenge the person in the middle. Moving on the the second half started well and trying to get the fourth try seemed out of reach till the final move and well done to the team to keep on trying. Watching Paves from the side line in the second half observing the scrum I believed he really wanted to get in there himself. An enjoyable evening meeting up with the regular supporters again and hoping to meet them all up again soon (London Jocks).

Well done Pirates and we could have a good season ahead.
