Very tough assignment. Just give it 100% and see what happens. All the pressure is on Ealing after last week!

This is going to be a very tough game facing an Ealing side on their home pitch who will be wanting to put in a performance after their unexpected defeat to London Scottish.

The game has been abandoned after a lengthy stoppage to I believe pirates replacement Ben Grubb.
Social media reports that thankfully he is back on his feet after being stretchered from the field.
There is some confusion as to why the game was not restarted and has been abandoned.

Lack of adequate ongoing medical cover? Just a thought

It would appear that our player went off to hospital as a precautionary measure leaving no ambulance cover ( no other ambulance was available)which is a requirement under the championship regulations.
Hopefully Ben Grubb is ok and will make a full and speedy recovery.

Just been listening to Gavin on the radio. He suggested that Ealing would have had a red card, so the last 20 odd minutes would have been interesting.

The red Card should be validated for the rearranged fixture

Positive news, as Ben Grubb has been discharged from hospital following tests and scans coming back clear. Ben is on his way back to Cornwall and will continue his rehab at the club next week. Ben would also like to pass on his thanks for all the well wishes.

Very pleased to hear that your lad Ben is on the mend. The incident sobered me up at Vallis Way. Merry Christmas to all in Cornwall!

Really good news that Ben is on his way back, hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.
In response to medical cover: until recently we have always had paramedics at the Mennaye with an ambulance car, any injured player was taken to the treatment room, under the care of the paramedics while an ambulance was called. This resulted in the game being able to continue as there were paramedics still on site. Following concerns raised when we played Bath, I believe, as there was no actual ambulance on site, we have now been told that the ambulance has to be on site, not the paramedics car. This means that in the event of a serious injury the ambulance and its crew will whisk the injured person, (which may not even be a player), off to hospital leaving no medical cover at the ground.
Player and crowd safety must be at the forefront of everything we do. My opinion is that we had a very sensible approach in the 1st place but now whenever a serious event happens the game will have to be abandoned due to no medical cover. Unless there is a replacement ambulance and crew parked up around the corner "just in case". We all know that's not going to happen.

Glad to read Ben has returned home and hopefully will be up and running again soon.
