This will be a tough game against a much improved Nottingham side.
Fingers crossed for a good crowd to get behind the boys and cheer them onto a home win.

Shame Moyler is injured again, but a strong team and bench and great to have John back.
Notts are a decent side, but so are every other team in this league, none are pushovers so a close game anticipated, hopefully with us getting the Lions share of the points. We need a decent and very loud crowd to get behind the lads.
Looking forward to this encounter as both teams will be wanting the win plus BP. Believe this will be a tougher match than last week.
Agree Wigston. The wind will play a part too - it's blowing a hooley and forecast to get even stronger later on. Kicking game will be important today. Keep the penalty count down and don't give them field position - that seemed to be the problem in the second half at Cambridge.

Pirates provided Notts 2 x tries but a different team from last weeks performance altogether. Hopefully this will carry on next week at Coventry which is practically a home fixture for myself.

A very dominant performance by the pirates who scored 7 tries to secure a bonus point win.
The pirates scrum had the upper hand throughout and we probably didn't convert all of our opportunities.
Defence and discipline was much better and only the 2 intercepted tries kept Nottingham in the game.
A big challenge awaits this squad with difficult away games at Coventry, Bedford and Ealing.

Excellent result which would have been even better had we not gifted them two silly tries. That said a really solid team performance with the lions share of the honours to the forwards who dominated the scrum, John Stevens was immense yet again.
Probably our best performance of the season. This is a very dangerous Nottingham team who score a lot of tries, and we nullified them brilliantly. Every player was on top form and the kicking game was excellent.

On checking our fixtures the next home league match is Ampthill on the 10th March.
Our only home fixture in February is the friendly against the Navy on Friday 23rd.

P15 I suggest we ask the RFU!! They don't seem to care about anything below the Prem!!! 1 league home game in the next 7 weeks is suicidal and pathetic. Clubs will certainly go to the wall or go part-time IF they survive. This scenario was pointed out several seasons ago and the RFU took action by cutting funding, losing their only sponsor and losing the B&I cup. That's how much they care!! Time to vote the hierarchy out (the RFU is after all an affiliation of member clubs) and get people with rugby and business brains in their place. They have taken the urine for long enough, sat on their hands and ignored every affiliated club below the Prem.
Well said Cornishbob. The situation has become almost impossible for many clubs. I've often wondered if the hidden agenda, over the last few seasons, is to get The Championship to fail, then they can replace it with whatever harebrained scheme they come up with.
Stalwart, the RFU AND the Prem made it clear not so long ago that they want the Championship as a feeder league controlled by the Prem. This meant selling our sole and becoming affiliated and owned by the Prem clubs, thats why they wanted both leagues with the same amount of teams in each and the Championship called Prem 2. Any league below these leagues were to be left out to dry. It's all about money, greed and control. Our only hope is the Champ clubs stick together and tell the RFU they are only where they are because of ALL the clubs below the Prem and not solely for the benefit of the Prem. The tail is wagging the dog.
