Speaking to BBC Cornwall, Alan Paver said Pirates face 'defining moment' of their season as they prepare to face three of their top five rivals away from home in the Championship.

Pirates go into tomorrow’s game at Coventry having won five of their last six matches.

"But now this'll be a defining moment of our season and it's important that we pick up wins away from home.

"We're ready for it, but we understand the challenge ahead."

Third-placed Pirates are two points behind Coventry with a game in hand, and one point off Ealing who have played one game fewer as they approach the mid point of the season.

This is the first of 3 very tough away fixtures for the pirates but I'm confident the boys will give their all to come back to Cornwall with a win.

Very tough assignments starting at Coventry. Cov are very strong at home and expecting over 4,000, so it would be a massive win for us if the boys can do it.

Hopefully the lads will give there best as this will be a tough match. Would be happy with a win first and hopefully a BP thrown in. The other bonus a Home fixture for myself,

Incredible performance from the whole squad to get 3 tries and a win on the road against Coventry who were top of the league.
This win was built on a huge defensive performance by the pirates in a very physical encounter.
Huge plaudits to the whole squad and coaches, enjoy your evening and have a safe trip back home.

It was a superb a game as the Pirates came under strong pressure for the first 20 minutes and they weathered it brilliantly. Coventry were slick and powerful throughout the game and speaking with Coventry supporters after they were pleased with the display of both teams. Onwards and Upwards. It would have been a good advert for the CEO of the RFU to have attended but, no doubt he was other wise engaged.

Bill **** was at the Rams v Taunton match, he didn't really understand the game but wanted to talk to Rams re their application to Premier II

Coventry centre Will Ring who played and scored against the pirates has signed for Exeter chiefs.
Not that we should feel the need to evidence the value of the championship but yet another example of our league developing players and providing a pathway into the premiership.
