Maynard weighing up his options as Cov travel to Blaydon.

COVENTRY are weighing up their options for tomorrow’s rearranged National League One game at Blaydon as they bid to arrest an alarming dip in form.

Heavily beaten at Macclesfield last week, Cov have taken just five points from their last seven games – slipping down to 12th place in the table – with only one win, against struggling Barking, to provide any relief in a poor run.

Last week’s display has left rugby director Phil Maynard and his coaches with a number of selection posers, a situation compounded by solid performances from a number of players in Tuesday night’s Nighthawks game against a strong Army side.

“I was quite impressed with a couple of our new lads and a few of them put their claims for a starting place tomorrow,” said Maynard.

“We got off to a poor start last week and we never got into the game. Our whole performance just wasn’t good enough and left us with a lot of questions to answer.
