Coventry tackling defensive issues says Maynard.

RUGBY director Phil Maynard hailed Coventry’s defensive strength after they stretched their winning run in National League One to three games with a 27-6 win at Loughborough Students.

Cov outscored the home side 3-0 in tries – the first time in two seasons that Loughborough had failed to cross the opposition line as they were tackled out of contention.

“We built our season around defence, and to watch Loughborough crumble in the last 20 minutes due to the pressure defence we were applying was great to see,” he said.

"One of the main goals we set ourselves was to build our defence – if you can get that right, with the go forward it gives you the attack will look after itself.
