Just in case anybody thought they were in the comfort zone in the Gloucester team, there’s a reminder in Dean Ryan’s team for Friday night’s GP West Country derby at Barff that nobody is safe. Alasdair Strokosch is dropped two days after being named Guinness Premiership Player of the Month for December.

Glaws will probably claim he isn't dropped, of course, preferring to say that he is rested - it is a squad game, after all. But it's a strange game to rest him for.
His place goes to Peter Buxton, who returns to the pack, as does Carlos Nieto as Glaws go for their first ever GP win at the Wreck.
Strokosch drops down to the bench, where Patrice Collazo replaces Christian Califano.
Injured trio Gareth Delve, Iain Balshaw and Andy Titterrell are all still out. Bad news for Delve, who would have wanted to return against his former club.
There are no changes in the backs, where Mike Tindall (right) has recovered from the leg injury which caused him to limp off early in last weekend’s 27-0 home win over Bristol. His replacement then, Leon Lloyd, scored two tries, but that wasn't enough for him to keep his place and he drops back down to the bench.

Ryan told the club website: “We have given ourselves a great start in the Premiership and in Europe and over the next six or seven games we have to consolidate that.
“There is a deep understanding of what we want to achieve in the long-term and we are beginning to see the results of keeping the group together and a development process that is another 12 months further along.
“Both teams are in good form and at the top of the league. We appreciate the significance of this game but we have a series of important matches over the next month.”
At 8pm tomorrow, the pre-match talking - in which Ryan has said he felt Barff were wrong to field a weakened team at Wasps last week and there have been accusatory noises from Barff regarding Glaws and the celery cap – stops and it’s all down to 15 men against 15 men.
May the best team (ie Glaws) win.

Must be a recurring theme at Glaws coz Lamby was rested too after being named player of the month. Looks like the weather may do its best to spoil the game tomorrow which would be a pity coz it could be a proper game of attacking rugby given half a chance.
