The good news just keeps on coming for Gloucester as this welcome and exciting season continues to unfold, and after coming through their Leicester test last weekend, the cherry and whites face another massive hurdle this weekend.

Their visit to Premiership leaders Harlequins is surely the match of the weekend, first v third in a game that is sure to have a major influence on the destination of this season’s honours.

And Glaws go into the game with fast-improving Ben Morgan available after he was one of the players released from the England squad to play for their clubs.

And that follows another boost for Glaws, Akapusi Qera announcing that he will be available for club rather than country when the autumn internationals kick-off.

The flanker scored one of the tries against Leicester and has been in top form this season, but coach Nigel Davies has stressed that the decision was Qera’s and that the club had not tried to influence the player, instead encouraging them to play international rugby at every opportunity.

Quins might be top, but they have lost twice this season, while Glaws of course have only lost once. They scraped home at London Irish last weekend with a try which was, to say the least, controversial.

NBut they really needed the win after losing their previous two Prem games, against Saracens and Exeter.

It’s a big game for Glaws, but one they can win and their attitude is summed up by centre Billy Twelvetrees in his first season at the club.

"There's no reason why we can't go there and get another result. We've got to the point where we now feel we can really have a go at teams,” he told the Citizen.

"We've been together long enough now to know what we can do – we've got exciting pace in the backline and it's time to use it.

"We'll take it to them – they're Premiership champions and the ones with something to lose in some respects.

"We've got nothing to lose in contrast, we're fit and raring to go, and it's going to be a great contest.”

If it’s half as good as the game at Kingsholm last weekend, it will be a cracker.
