Credit where it is due. Bryan Redpath worked out a game plan on how to beat his old club and it worked a treat.  

Our much vaunted back row of Kalamafoni/Kvesic/Morgan was eclipsed. They couldn't make the hard yards and they were out rucked by Seymour and Braid.

The writing was on the wall when a simple midfield move saw Mark Cueto open up some space and he went over himself.

We weren't helped when Henry Thomas was yellow carded for repeated offences at the set piece and all of a sudden we were trailing 14-3 at half time.

Morale then  took a blow when Sale went over through Andy Forsyth but he was  in front of Cueto's deft little kick. No problem we thought - it will be disallowed by the TV ref. Err no it wasn't.

As so often happens things went from bad to worse with Billy Twelvetress sin binned for a reckless tackle.

We showed signs of getting back into things with a fine try from Henry Trinder who showed real pace and a couple of pens got us as close .

But a drop goal from Joe Ford meant we needed a converted try and any chance of us getting a push over from a five metre evaporated when Sharks simply pushed us off.

It was win they well deserved and let's hope it taught us a valuable lesson.

We were just dumb. When we saw they hsd rumbled our game plan we just kept on trying to batter our way through the middle. Don't we have some of the best backs in the country?
