Big Signing For Glaws

World Cup winner John Afoa is on the way from Ulster to Kingsholm next season as the club takes action to stop the rot ..

The forwards have struggled all season, but the 30 year old Kiwi tighthead will help stabilise the front row and help give us the platform our talented backs crave.

On the official site Nigel Davies says: "This signing, amongst others, signals a statement of intent in terms of our playing philosophy at Gloucester; strengthening our core values as a forwards pack, playing our way with a team armed not just with power, but also the ability to play a rounded and completed game.

"He had several good options in France, so we've had to work hard to bring him to Gloucester. It's a real statement of where we're hoping to go.A player of John's stature can have a massive impact upon a relatively young pack of forwards and on our rugby environment in general.

"It's clear our vision, ambition, our culture matched where he wants to be as a world-class player and, as a club with strong values, that he's happy to become a part of with his young family."
