There's nothing better than winning a game with a last ditch kick - and, of course, the opposite applies. So, thoughts with Billy Twelvetrees as we digest the first home defeat of the season albeit one by the narrowest of margins - 20-21.
Credit to Falcons for taking their chances and more particularly for resolute defence when we battered their line for what seemed like half an hour.
We had our chances to win the game - Billy Burns missing three kicks at goal before Twelvetrees' miss which after Lewis Ludlow was driven over on the 77th minute.
That was our bonus point try so we won the try scoring stakes through Woodward, Halaifonua, Atkinson and Ludlow but Falcons fly-half Joel Hodgson clearly won the kicking contest thanks to his three penalties and one conversion. We didn't kick anything on the day.
The result puts the Geordies up to an unlikely fourth while we are back in sixth.
