Opportunity Lost

Billy Twelvetrees

Let's hope that when we get to May 2020 we won't be looking back on the trip to Tigers as the one that got away.

Tigers were there for the taking for much of the game, but a strangely misifiring Gloucs could not take advantage with a late pen from Ton Hardwick sealing their 16-13 win.

We weren't helped by an ankle injury in the warm up to Ed Slater. He started the game but after just two minutes was lucky to escape with just a yellow for a late shoulder on home fly half Noel Reid. He didn't come back on when he'd served his sentence.

Danny Cirpriani was off form and replaced, and Billy Twelvetrees was also out of touch specially with his handling.

The second half wss better than the first but not by a lot - it happens to the best of teams as England can vouch.

Joe Simpson did score an exellent try eary in the second half but that was our highlight

We will need to rediscover our "A" game this Saturday when Sarries visit.
