Simpson Extends Contract

By New Cherry

Some good news today - Joe Simpson has extended his one year contract although nobody is saying by how much. This comes the day after his side should have come away with a win at Quins and nobody is quite sure why they didn't .

You have to wonder why Billy Twelvetrees came of the bench and was then quickly asked to take a penalty which would have given us the lead.

There wasn't any wind to worry about but he faffed around - ending up with the veritable finger holding down the ball, which all kickers hate. It should have been a routine three points but he missed. Quins breathed  sigh of relief and went back up the pitch to go into a one point lead of their own ,which they increased to a 23-19 final score right at the death.

We had been leading 12-0 at half time thanks to Ollie Thorley. After that the sides took turns to score in an entertaining game - it would have been even more fun if we had won.
