The Celtic Crusaders slumped to their seventh successive defeat of the campaign on Good Friday evening with a 30-10 reverse away to the Huddersfield Giants. Josh Hannay and Damien Quinn ran over scores for Cru - but the hosts, who shoot up to third, ended up comfortable winners at the Galpharn Stadium.

Huddersfield bossed the opening half and led twelve-nil at the break with David Hodgson scoring two tries and converting on both occasions.

However, John Dixon's Black & Gold Army were given hope after a Josh Hannay effort reduced the deficit; before Liam Fulton and the boot of Hodgson reinstated the Giants' twelve point advantage.

Cru kept battling and Damien Quinn's try kept the Welsh outfit in contention before late converted efforts from Kevin Brown and Michael Lawrence sealed our fate.

Another loss is certain to be demoralising for players and fans alike - but the club face rivals Harlequins in an eagerly anticipated Bank Holiday clash. Despite Cru's injury problems, it's a winnable game. We've won plaudits across the country for our ambitious and entertaining brand of Rugby League and, hopefully, with a bit of luck the long wait for a win will come to an end on Monday afternoon.

The game on Bank Holiday is being billed as a must win game but having talked about the match and the season as a whole, perhaps we should remember it is a three year journey and not a one year experiment!

However a win would be nice.
