Wooden Spoon?

The Celtic Crusaders are now overwhelming favourites with the bookmakers to pick up this year's Super League wooden spoon. SkyBet have priced Cru up at 1/8 to finish bottom of the 14-team division after John Dixon’s men suffered an eighth successive league defeat on Bank Holiday Monday. Cru are still searching for their first Super League point.

Salford City Reds are considered, by SkyBet, as our nearest rivals for bottom spot and are priced at 6/1. You can also bet on 'Any Other Team' finishing bottom of the pile at a price of 9/1 - though most pundits during pre-season felt it would be a battle between the two newly-promoted clubs for the basement spot.

Cru currently prop up the Super League table after opening the season with eight consecutive defeats. We're currently four points adrift at the bottom with Warrington in 13th spot, a point ahead of Bradford Bulls and two behind Salford following their magnificent win away to the Leeds Rhinos.

Thankfully, our fans are remaining optimistic and the site's current web poll showed that nearly 86% of Cru supporters believe we can avoid picking up the wooden spoon. What do you reckon? Get voting and join in the debate over on the messageboard.
