Come on CRU!

The Celtic Crusaders continue their inaugural Super League campaign on Saturday with a crucial home clash against Hull Kingston Rovers. The lads need all the support they can get – and victory against the Robins, who have just been thumped by Harlequins – will leave John Dixon’s men with a realistic chance of avoiding the wooden spoon in their first season amongst the sport’s European elite.

Saturday's fine victory saw the Crusaders finally give the Brewery Field faithful something to cheer and - alongside the amazing win at Odsal in May - took Cru's tally to four points for the season.

Cru currently sit six points behind 13th-placed Salford; whilst the Red Devils hold a game-in-hand. However, the win over Wigan has brought a much-needed morale boost to the Saders camp and an unlikely win over the Kingston Rovers this weekend will keep hopes alive of dodging the wooden spoon in our first season.

Salford, meanwhile, have been dealt a blow in confidence lately following back-to-back defeats at Wigan - one in the Challenge Cup, the other in the league.

Saturday's visitors Hull KR currently sit third in the Super League table - but their hopes of winning the league leaders' shield were dealt a body blow last weekend with a shock 40-10 home defeat at the hands of the Harlequins. That result must give the Cru hope of securing another victory.

Bring a friend, bring an enemy, bring whoever - Cru need all the support they can get. Every win is crucial for the future of the sport in South Wales and victory against the Robins would be huge for all associated with the Saders.

To be honest, this season I'd be happy with the wooden spoon, so long as we win a few more.

A grand total of 4-5 wins is a reasonable expectation this far into the season.

Our "bedding-in" year has been a tough-un, but so long as the finance doesn't mess us up, I reckon next year we'll be pushing for mid-table honours.

Firefly,you are right forsure. I think 5 wins should be the aim. However, we've got to aim high and if catching Salford give the lads something to aim for then it's fine by me. they're 6 points away so we can have a go.

Oh ABSOLUTELY Leo! Aim high.
If we finish above Salford, you won't wipe the smile of my face for months (still grinning about wigan).

Mainly I want to beat the Wire, but am secretly hoping we ambush Rhinos at Dave Parade.

Still, much as I like the club and fans, this week it's HKR and they've given us 2 beatings already this year. Here's hoping for payback.
