Cru in hot water?

"It never rains, it pours" is how one messageboard regular claimed – and it’s hard to argue with that as Crusaders fans were confronted with yet more bad news ahead of this weekend’s home clash with old rivals Salford. Reports state that some of the club's players are being investigated by the UK Border Agency over possible immigration offences.

Allegedly, visas used to bring some of the Crusaders' overseas stars to South Wales may be inadequate.

The Saders had problems before the start of the season with the arrival of eight overseas players delayed due to problems with work permits. It has now emerged that the player's visas may be insufficient and the club could find itself in hot water with the UK Border Agency.

These troubling developments at the Brewery Field come amid reports of financial instability at the South Wales outfit. Chairman Leighton Samuel had to reassure fans of his commitment to the cause after the club's long-term future was placed into considerable doubt.
