The Celtic Crusaders have been warned by the Rugby Football League hat they may face 2011 expulsion if progress is not made on the club’s future stadia plans. The Castleford Tigers, St.Helens, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Salford have also received written letters of warning from the game’s authorities.

Plans to move to a new 15,000-capacity stadium played a central role in the Saders' bid for a three-year Super League starting this year.

Cru, however, have made little progress on their new stadium proposals; with reports suggesting that the club could be set to switch the Brewery Field for the redeveloped Rodney Parade next season.

"Five clubs put forward their intention to build new stadiums, with a number creating a lot of publicity. Some clubs are at a more advanced stage of the planning process than others." said Gary Tasker, the director of development from the RFL.

Some sceptical fans have suggested that the proposed switch from Bridgend to Newport could be due to complications with the club's plans for a move to a new, purpose-build ground at Island Farm in Bridgend.

The Saders have submitted plans to Bridgend County Borough Council - but reports of financial problems aren't filling the fans with optimism.

Applications for the second set of three-year Super League licenses will be made in 2011. Clearly, it's not only the club's on-field results which need to have improved by that date if John Dixon's men are to extend their elite division stay by another three seasons.

It'll look pretty poor with 12,000 empty seats !

But it would look great with 10,000 fans in wearing black and gold and seeing us up the top of the league...
