Gutted, fed up and really brassed off.

I am a Widnes fan, but more importantly a rugby fan and these RFL muppets have all but destroyed your club!
In fairness your club played its way through the leagues and drew support as it did so.

Going back to the days of the early 90's, Widnes enjoyed the rugby of some great Welsh players and to see that grow again would have been great for the game - for everyone.

Although few may say it - there are many in other RL forums who are sympathetic to your position and share your disappointment and disgust!

needless to say i am completely disillusioned at the moment.
as a neutral, do you understand my decision to perhaps not support the club next year? i'm strongly in two minds.

If there is a club next season I'll have to think about things from a new position.

I certainly am NOT going to Neath to watch a Wrexham Crusaders run feeder team for the gogs

1. It's in Neath.
2. It's a feeder team not an independent team.
3. It's run by the Crusaders.

Chris...reports today suggest the team is independent and has its own ambitions for the Super League. I'm sure their will be some ties with the Crusaders, but so long as the club is allowed to run its own affairs, has its own badges and club colours then I'll strongly consider supporting it.

A few things clearly need to be made clear and the Crusaders web-site STILL haven't had the common courtesy to even make an announcement at this stage. Wrexham FC's official web-site got one up as soon as I's were dotted and T's crossed on the permanent move.

This could be South Wales' last ever chance to succeed in Rugby League. Looking at the RFL web-site, I like the sound of: "The new club, South Wales RLFC, will be independently run by a brand new management team". The application is "from a consortium of South Wales businessmen"

"We are committed to Bridgend" "We are a club for all Wales based in Bridgend" "We will have a new state of the art stadium at Island Farm" "The Island Farm stadium is not practical. We will have a new state of the art stadium at Brackla". "The Brewery Field Stadium is not adequate. We will move to Rodney Parade for two years then return to a state of the art stadium at Bridgend". "Newport has been bending over backwards to accomodate us". "Because of a fixture clash the first Crusaders home game will be played at Wrexham. But we are committed to a future in Rodney Parade".
"We are moving to Wrexham but will play three games on the road at Newport". "We will plat two games on the road at Newport". "We will play two matches on the road at Neath".
"There will be an independent Ch1 side operating independently and funded by a consortium out of Bridgend". "The new Ch1 side will be playing out of the Gnoll at Neath". If I was, I'm sure I'd still be supporting the Crusaders.

I'm amazed at the number of fans who seem prepared to journey all the way to Wrexham despite being treated so badly by the current regime. I'm disgusted at the way we've been treated.
Clearly, the money dried up and Geoff Moss provided the most viable financial offer. Whilst I don't agree with relocation, at the very, very, very least the club should have kept the club's loyal fans informed and should have pulled the season ticket advert from the site when the uncertainty arose. They didn't.

However:...

I want Rugby League to be a success in South Wales and regard South Wales RLFC, whether it be Phoenix, Scorpions or whatever else - to be the final chance the sport has in this region.

The club has an independent team behind it who will be investing significant amounts of money to get it going. They're not going to want to see a loss on that investment and will want the project to be a success.

I'm not going to jump into bed blindly with the new team but plan to attend the first game against Workington Town and hope that a good side of Welsh talent can push for promotion.

Im tired of being lied to,I have no more connection now to (Wrexham) Crusaders RL than I do to Wigan Warriors etc. Its not 'my/our' club anymore as far as Im concerned. I don't see how this new club will benefit the long term development of RL in South or even North Wales, it seems to be just a tool to prop up a fifth rate football club (no offence Wrexham FC fans!)

I shall lend my support to South Wales RLFC for now.

I don't see the Crusaders surviving in N Wales long term.

I feel that "evil" about the move it's almost the case that I will support anyone against Gog Crusaders. Hell I'd probably support the Taliban if they put up a team against the Gogs.

I cannot see the point in them coming down here twice a season.

Let South Wales RLFC have the support from those interested in the South and, with the move to Wrexham confirmed, leave those in the South alone.

It'd be like MK Dons strolling back to Wimbledon for a couple of games a year.

Also, I'm willing to wager cash that the two games "we" get in South Wales will be against Catalans and the Harlequins.

I agree TC and would not be surprised if the two games in the South will be quetly dropped before the fixtures are finalised. MK Dons is a perfect analogy!!

According to the club site itss Quins and Bulls in the south on 2 April and 12 June respectively. The proximity of the first date to April Fools may not be without significance though!!
