South Wales Scorpions are a surprise nomination for Rugby League Express' prestigious Club of the Year award. The newspaper has shortlisted the Welsh outfit after they secured a Championship One play-off spot in their inaugural year.
Postal voting is open and forms can be found in this week's League express newspaper - whilst fans can also vote online at TotalRL.com.
Scorpions have been shortlisted after making the play-offs and because the foundation of the club has "laid solid roots in South Wales".
Chairman Phil Davies said he was "delighted" with the news, but modestly said of the vote: "If we can achieve a respectable position, we'll be happy".
Now departed Anthony Seibold is nominated for Coach of the Year; as is Brian Noble after leading the Crusaders to a top-eight finish in Super League despite major turmoil off-the-field.
Welsh international star Christiaan Roets has also been shortlisted for an award and will be hoping to be voted as the Championship One player of the year.
These mark further fine achievements in the early years of the Scorps.
