In the first of two home games at Caerphilly's ground, the Scorpions entertain Oldham on Sunday afternoon at 3pm. With attendances suffering a little this season at the Gnoll this is an ideal oppurtunity for South Wales RL fans to show their support for the club and the sport. Get along to the ground in Caerphilly and bring a friend.
As detailed on the club site.... South Wales Scorpions will play two matches against former Super League sides at Virginia Park in Caerphilly due to reseeding work at their regular Neath home ground.
The matches against Oldham on Sunday 15th May (kick-off 3pm) and Workington Town on Sunday 5th June (kick-off 1pm) will both be played at the historic ground.
Virginia Park is the new home of the Wales Rugby League and already stages their Grand Finals and age-grade international matches. The Crusaders Academy and Valley Cougars have also adopted Caerphilly as their home ground for all of their sides in 2011.
Adults - £10 in advance - £12 on matchday Concessions/Juniors - £5 in advance - £7 on matchday
it's all gone quiet, it's all gone quiet, it's all gone quiet over there lol Don't forget me Rogero!
Maybe everyone is enjoying reading the latest issue of sting in the tale? the Spot the ball was particularly tricky!
Should be a good game today, the Oldham away game last season was a highlight for me, a fantastic victory and probabley the dumpiest ground ever! Oldham were camped on the Scorpions 22 for over 20 minutes but didn't come away with a single point due to the awesome defence. That is what is needed today and something which has been lacking of late. Let's get there in numbers and shout on the boys to kick start the season.
I havent managed a Scorpions game yet this season for a number of reasons 40:20. £63.50 on the train and then accomadation on top of that is just one reason! I was hoping to come down to the Oldham game today and get a lift back with Raf but Raf went down on Friday and I could not arrange a lift today. I am planning to be at the Workington game though.I may be staying in Caerphilly on the Saturday and Treorchy on Sunday but not sure yet. I want to catch up with old friends.
the support for this the first game in caerfilly was great
agreed we did look a little suspect at times but all in all a great show by the lads
thought there was some players that had to stand up and be counted and fair play they did
AND did every one see the big hit from our new guy CHRIS CLOUGH
have that
The players coaches and all the loyal supporters Thanks to the Staff at the ground a very rewarding day for all.lets get behind the boys for the new start to the season
Apparantly theres Honeysuckle Blonde (thats not slang for anything) behind the private bar Rog/Neil but it wasn't ready to serve Sun. The Kings Head in town looks like a good place for pre match drinks now.
