South Wales Scorpions will be based at a new home next season. They will play the majority of home matches at Mountain Ash RFC's ground with three games "on the road" at Llanelli, Maesteg and one match at Cardiff Arms Park. The club leave Maesteg after only one season and now have their third home venue since forming in 2009.  

The following is extracted from an aricle on the Mountain Ash RFC' website which confirms that nine games will be played at theirground between March and October 2015 plus any home Cup matches.

"Three games will be taken outside Mountain Ash, one at Cardiff Arms Park, one in Maesteg and one in Llanelli. The (Mountain Ash RFC) Club is confident that the Scorpions can be accommodated with wear and tear on the pitch minimal in the Summer months due to Rugby League being played on a harder ground in the Summer, there being no competitive scrums, lineouts, rucks or mauls in League, and the project being supported by RCT Council, who have to play their part in preparing the pitch. Supporters can rest assured that Mountain Ash RFC’s matches will not be compromised to accommodate the Scorpions."

The news means that supporters of the Scorpions in South Wales have seen their team play home matches at Neath, Maesteg and now Mountain Ash. On the road games have seen matches played at Blackwood, Caerphilly and Cardiff plus one match at the new home of Mountain Ash at the end of last season. 

Roots need to be established, support needs to be encouraged and galvanized and results on the pitch need to improve if the club is to improve and prosper.
